One year ago, pretty much to the day, I was taking off towards the US for the very first time in my life. I was going to make reality a dream that I had had for over 10 years: a road trip in the southwest of the US. And at that time, I was far from thinking that I would go back there 3 times within the next 12 months.
The following morning, I wake up early. The jetlag going west is always better to me than the other way.
As planned, I have a quick breakfast and go with my brother and his girlfriend to the border so that I can keep his car all day. It is only about 10 minutes from his house but I am going to have to remember the route at the same time as I get familiar with the American road signs that I don’t know yet.
On Saturday morning, I wake up early but I am feeling better. I am starting to recover from the jetlag et the sun that I can see through the curtains helps me get up. It is already quite hot outside and it is so nice to have such bright light and hot temperatures.
Today is our last day in southern Arizona. Starting tomorrow, our road trip begins. We are going to take advantage of today to have a look at how things are on the other side of the border.
Today is THE day: we are starting our road trip.
As usual since we have arrived here, the weather is perfect and already pretty hot. There is no cloud in sight and for us coming from the UK (and even more so in October) it is more than appreciated.
After a good night sleep, we are getting ready for the second day of our trip.
Today we are going to take a walk in some of Phoenix outlets before leaving the city for Jerome Ghost Town.
