1 - Bristol to Tucson

One year ago, pretty much to the day, I was taking off towards the US for the very first time in my life. I was going to make reality a dream that I had had for over 10 years: a road trip in the southwest of the US. And at that time, I was far from thinking that I would go back there 3 times within the next 12 months.

2- Discovering southern Arizona

The following morning, I wake up early. The jetlag going west is always better to me than the other way.

As planned, I have a quick breakfast and go with my brother and his girlfriend to the border so that I can keep his car all day. 9- Grand Canyon and Kayenta

Today we have to pack up our luggage again. Tonight we will stop in Kayenta.
After breakfast, we are back on the road towards the entrance of the Grand Canyon National Park. We try a different route today. It is pretty much the same distance so we think it would allow us to see a different scenery than yesterday.

10- Monument Valley

When we wake up, it is a cloudless sky that awaits us once more and we discover the surrounding scenery that we couldn’t see last night on arrival. We are still in the middle of the desert but the colours have changed. The yellows are replaced by the oranges that contrast more with the green of the little vegetation that is still there and the dark blue of the sky. I didn’t know it yet then but this day was going to be for me the nicest one of the entire trip.
